It's response time!

Revive our ambulance service, Mr Brumby!

Victoria’s ambulance service is in crisis.

People across Melbourne and Victoria are waiting longer and longer for ambulances in emergencies.

Our intensive care (MICA) ambulance service is collapsing.

Regional Victorian towns and cities often have no local paramedic for many hours because of understaffing.

And our ambos are suffering from dangerous levels of fatigue because of their long hours and extreme workload.

But the good news is that the State Government can fix this crisis.

That’s why we urgently need to resolve our ambos EBA negotiations.

We need the Victorian Government to commit to:

  • Better rosters and 10 hour rest breaks between shifts to relieve paramedic fatigue.
  • Restoring a full MICA service to all Melbournians.
  • Upgraded ambulance services for understaffed regional towns and cities.
  • A fair wage outcome to help us recruit and retain our highly-skilled paramedics.

Stand with our ambos! Click now to help our ambos win a better safer ambulance service.

Gordon Bowman

"We're a rich country and we should be able to deliver one of the best ambulance services in the world."

"But we're not going get it unless paramedics and the broader community fight for it."

Jo Goldsmith

In the past six to seven weeks I have needed the ambulance on five different occasions - all at different times of the day.

I have found that the paramedics have been exceptionally helpful, sympathetic and very caring to my needs.

These people need the best working conditons as possible to work under.
Their job is very stressful, time consuming and demanding.    Read more...
